As a member of the Prophets, as a solo singer and as an uncredited singer on Yabby You dubs, Prophet proved to be a strong, wailing singer with a strong cultural orientation. Most of these late '70's recordings have long been out of print but last year there was a flood of LP and 7" reissues that was purely delightful. Prophet and Yabby You parted company after a couple of years and Prophet surfaced as a member of Junjo's Volcano posse in the early '80's. He had several major dancehall hits, cut dozens of dubplates for Junjo and his Gunman was one of the biggest songs (and rhythms) or 1981.
