From: Smith, Jeanette" Subject: Lehbanchuleh in an accident Lehbanchuleh and I were in a car accident on Thursday where we were rear-ended pretty badly. Jah truly blessed us and it isn't as bad as it easily could have been. I'm achy and such and they are doing some x-rays and tests just to make sure as back and neck injuries can be tricky but Lehbanchuleh was hurt much worse than I. There are torn ligaments in his neck and a problem with one of the discs in the vertebrae of the neck area. He's been in the hospital since and has a neck brace. I've been taking him food each day as the hospital wasn't really prepared for a non-dairy vegetarian. :). We're waiting now to know if it will heal by itself or if surgery will be needed. There is, thankfully, no nerve damage and he "can still sing" which was the most important thing to him. We're here for him and offering support and I'm with him as much as possible. Luciano and Mikey General called him over the weekend and had hoped to change their flight to stay in Miami for a day but it doesn't look like that will be possible. I'm hoping that the doctor will let me perhaps take him home and watch him from there making sure that he stays immobile and rests and just take him back for x-rays and such. He's never been sick in his life and is really hating the hospital. :) He wants back the blood they took. :) Anyway, I just know how I'd feel if I were away from home and sick and I thought that I'd let all of you know as some of you have spoken to him before in my offices and heard his music and I thought that messages from you might cheer him up. Update: 8 Sep 02 Give thanks to all of you for your support and kind words. I've read every message to Lehbanchuleh and he's enjoyed them all. :-) The good news is that he gets stronger every day. The doctor let me bring him home from the hospital and that made a very big difference. He was not thriving at all in the hospital. He is still wearing the neck brace and it looks as if, thankfully, surgery won't be necessary. There's not been a final decision but it's leaning that way. :) He will be wearing the hard neck brace for another ten to fourteen days before he is switched to a soft brace. He was definitely not a happy camper when he heard that there would be another brace after this one but he's persisting. He wants to sing so much (spontaneous bursts of song are his norm) but the brace is too restricting. Soon enough. :) Again, give thanks to all of you more than words can say.
